US Shipping: Uh oh! All Tariffs
UPDATE: MAY 12TH
Hello! Things are constantly changing, and likewise, there has been an adjustment to the tariff situation.
At the time of writing, tariffs have dropped from 145% to 30% for 90 days. To avoid backend strain, I will still limit the products available for US customers and advise you (if you are a friend from across the border,) to purchase in the "US Friendly" category.
With the above in mind, I do have two exceptions:
1. Preorders for our Loxl-Love button-ups will be available for US customers. Tariffs are still likely to be applied to these items after being shipped. Given the unpredictable nature, I will have these available for US customers, assuming that tariffs will not be higher than 30% once they are ready to ship. If tariffs exceed 30%, I will hold onto your order until it is reasonable. Please keep an eye out for updates on Sulkypup's social media, as we navigate the situation. TLDR: Loxl-Love button-ups are available to preorder. They will only ship once tariffs are 30% or less. The production time is still approximately 3 months.
Additional Fee Estimate: Assuming the tariff is 30%, customers can expect to pay an extra $7 USD to $14 USD. If the tariff is lower, the additional fee is lower. Please note that once notified, you will need to pay the shipping carrier this fee in order to receive your items. This fee is not reflected in what you pay during order placement.
2. If you are in the US, and want to purchase outside of the "US Friendly" category, please send an email to shop.sulkypup@gmail.com, listing which items you would like to purchase, and if applicable, the size as well, along with your shipping address. If you choose to proceed with this option, you acknowledge that you will need to pay the additional fee presented to you by your shipping carrier to receive your order.
Annnd that's that for now! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to send an email.

Original post, May 8th:
Hi everyone! As many know, the de minimis exemption in the U.S. has been removed as of May 2nd. Under the new regulations, products produced in China will face a 145% tariff. Given this, it is neither fair to myself nor US customers to allow products to be shipped that would incur these high fees. What does this mean now? Well, as of right now, US customers will still be allowed to shop on Sulkypup.com, however, not all items will be available to purchase upon checkout. I truly hope this is temporary. As much as I know this is impacting Canadian businesses, I also know it is impacting American businesses. The future is uncertain, but your support for Sulkypup and all small businesses truly shines in these tough times.
I’m in the US! What am I able to purchase?
For convenience, we’ve created a category of products that will not face the 145% fee. Unfortunately, our button-ups and all-over-print hoodies are not included in this list. We still have some apparel such as our t-shirts and sweaters available though! Shipping to the US? Shop in this category!
Out of curiosity, what would the cost to ship look like with the fee?
Check it out below! What could typically be a $11.30 CAD shipping fee, would now be $96.19. Gross! With a shirt cost included, US customers could be paying upwards of $151 CAD a shirt.
Are you able to produce items like the button-ups in Canada? In the US?
As much as we try to source locally, certain manufacturing techniques and capabilities are not currently present for the demand that we need. Due to the level of customization, we rely on our manufacturers overseas to help create some of the products that you’ve grown to love. Sourcing a new manufacturer not only takes time, but also requires a level of financial investment that we don’t have at this time.
I’m not in the US! What does this all mean for me?
You get to just chill out and do your thing :) no work or concern is needed on your end. do a little jig buddy
